1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Family Vault on iPhone, Android, and the Family Vault website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not use Family Vault.
2. What Family Vault provides
Family Vault is a personal and family document management service. It helps you scan, upload, organize, preview, search, export, and share personal records such as IDs, certificates, PDFs, notes, insurance records, and household documents.
3. Eligibility and account responsibility
- You are responsible for the phone number, account, and devices used to access Family Vault.
- You must keep your OTP access, device passcode, and any biometric unlock settings secure.
- If you manage documents for family members or dependents, you must have authority to do so.
4. Your content and permissions
You retain responsibility for the documents, notes, metadata, and other content you upload or create in Family Vault.
- You may only upload or manage content that you own or are authorized to store and share.
- You control member access and sharing permissions inside your vault.
- You are responsible for reviewing exported or shared files before sending them to other people.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not use Family Vault for unlawful activity, fraud, abuse, harassment, or infringement of others' rights.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the security, availability, or integrity of the service.
- Do not upload malware, harmful files, or content designed to disrupt the service.
6. OCR, previews, and generated outputs
Family Vault may generate previews, thumbnails, OCR output, and export files to support features such as browsing, PDF review, image-to-text, and password-protected exports.
Generated outputs can contain mistakes. You should review extracted text, previews, and exported files before relying on them.
7. Availability and changes
We may improve, modify, suspend, or remove features from time to time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of every feature, provider integration, or export flow on every device or operating system version.
8. Security and backups
We use security controls intended to protect Family Vault, but no system is completely risk free. You should maintain your own awareness of what you store, how you share it, and whether you need separate personal backups of critical records.
9. Termination and account deletion
You may stop using Family Vault at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated, if the service is abused, or if continued operation would create legal, security, or operational risk.
Account deletion and associated data handling are also described in the Family Vault Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Family Vault is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis to the extent allowed by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. When we do, we will update the 'Last updated' date on this page.
