Family Vault is built to help families store and organize personal records, IDs, certificates, PDFs, scans, notes, and reminders. This policy explains what data is processed when you use Family Vault and how that data is handled across mobile and web.

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Family Vault on iPhone, Android, and the Family Vault website. It explains how Family Vault handles information when you create an account, upload documents, add family members, enable reminders, or use features such as text extraction, imports, exports, and notifications.

This page is intended to support users and app store reviewers who need a clear description of how Family Vault collects, uses, stores, and shares data.

2. Information we collect

Family Vault collects the information needed to run the service you choose to use.

  • Account and profile information, such as your phone number for OTP login, your name, and your profile photo.
  • Vault and family member information that you create, including names, roles, profile photos, and sharing permissions.
  • Documents and content that you upload or create, including scans, images, PDFs, text notes, document titles, categories, expiry dates, reminders, favorites, extracted text, and preview thumbnails.
  • Device and service information needed to operate the app, such as push notification tokens, basic diagnostic information, and screenshots you explicitly submit in issue reports.
  • Communication data related to sign-in and alerts, such as OTP delivery metadata and notification records.

3. How we use information

  • Authenticate you and protect your account.
  • Store, sync, organize, preview, and export your documents.
  • Power features such as search, text extraction, previews, reminder tracking, PDF support, and document sharing.
  • Send OTP codes, expiry reminders, and product notifications you enable.
  • Maintain security, detect abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
  • We do not use your uploaded documents for third-party advertising.

4. Device permissions and local access

  • Camera access is used when you scan or capture documents.
  • Photos and Files access is used when you import images, PDFs, or shared files from your device, through connected file providers such as iCloud Drive or Google Drive in the system picker, or through direct cloud import flows such as Google Drive when enabled.
  • Notification access is used for reminders and shared-document alerts.
  • Biometric unlock features such as Face ID or Touch ID are handled by your device operating system. Family Vault does not receive or store biometric templates.

5. Service providers and processing

Family Vault uses infrastructure and service providers to operate core parts of the product. These providers may process data on our behalf only to deliver the service.

  • Cloud database and application hosting providers to store account and app data.
  • Cloud object storage providers to store document files and previews.
  • SMS delivery providers to send OTP verification messages.
  • Push notification providers to deliver alerts.
  • Document processing used for image-to-text, PDF-to-text, previews, and metadata fields when those features are used.

6. When information is shared

Family Vault does not sell your personal information.

  • With people you explicitly grant access to inside your Family Vault, according to the permissions you choose.
  • With service providers that help us operate the app, as described above.
  • If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the security and integrity of Family Vault and its users.
  • We do not sell your personal information, documents, or vault content to advertisers or data brokers.

7. Storage, previews, and security

Family Vault stores documents, previews, and related metadata so features such as browsing, reminders, text extraction, PDF preview, and exports can work across supported devices.

We use access controls and encrypted network transport to protect data in transit. Uploaded files may have generated preview images or thumbnails to improve document browsing and document review flows.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account and vault remain active, and as needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When documents or accounts are deleted through supported Family Vault flows, associated data is removed according to our operational and backup processes.

You can delete your Family Vault account through the app or through our web deletion page.

9. Children and family data

Family Vault may store information about children or dependents only when that information is added by a parent, guardian, or other authorized user managing the family vault.

The app is designed for families and household record management. It is not intended for independent use by children without parent or guardian involvement.

10. Your choices, access, and deletion rights

  • You can add, edit, replace, export, or delete documents from within the app.
  • You can manage reminder settings and notification permissions through the app and your device settings.
  • You can control who has access to shared family content by adjusting member permissions.
  • You can request access to the personal information associated with your account.
  • You can delete your account using the in-app Delete Account flow or the web page at /delete-account.
  • You can request correction or deletion of your account data by contacting us at info@intus.co.in.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
